As Delightful as a Bouquet of Newly Sharpened Pencils...

Today's dose of happy... Tom Hanks as Joe Fox in the 1998 rom-com "You've Got Mail." That's Joe FOX. F--O--X.

What's not to love about a man who waxes poetic about the joys of New York in the Fall. A man who's willing to give Pride and Prejudice a chance, philosophizes about Starbucks' role in reforming the "indecisives" of the world, and can charm disgruntled grocery store cashiers with a single knock-knock joke.

"Mr. 152 insights into my soul" Meg Ryan calls him- which is pretty much true for hopeless romantics everywhere. With his trusty golden retriever Brinkley by his side, Joe Fox is frankly hard to beat.

If this post has left you boggled, clearly you need to go find a copy of "You've Got Mail" and watch it. Now. Right now. Your life will be a little bit happier because of it- trust me.

And no- of course I didn't indulge in his delightful-ness twice in one evening simply because the Oxygen Network decided to air it twice in a row. Nope. No way.

Ok... you got me. Make that a double "daily dose of happy" for today. Can't argue with that...

Oh- and brownie points to Tom Hanks himself- who is apparently just as wonderful as his on-screen alter-ego... just take a look at his real-life crusade to save a local indie bookshop. How cute is that?
