Used Books on the Fly...

Our plane's just arrived at the Raleigh-Durham airport. Walking through the terminal, we see the typical array of airport commerce. Watered-down versions of popular chain restaurants, cheesy souvenir shops and numerous coffee stands. Then- as we were about to head towards the baggage claim- I spotted it.

It was called 2nd Ed. Book Sellers, and basically it was a used bookstore smack dab in the middle of the bustling airport.

While it lacked many of the charms of your typical hole-in-the-wall used bookshop, you have to give it credit for trying. In the airport environment where one is normally hard-pressed to find anything beyond the few mainstream titles currently topping a best-seller list, it was a nice change of pace to experience a shop which actually allowed for some legitimate browsing.

Kudos to 2nd Edition Book Sellers, for providing a source for unique used books "on the fly!"
